The new challenges and opportunities of Mechatronics have pushed MACH4 Lab to study and develop new solutions to achieve excellent machining performance and high product quality.

MACH4 Lab proposes innovative mechatronic applications for micropositioning, active vibration control, compensation of MT structural deformations and energy harvesting.

The applications are based on adaptronic devices using smart actuators (e.g. piezoelectric stack, piezofibers composite, magnetostrictive, …) and novel principles of real-time compensation of unpredictable structural deformations through the integration of smart sensors into the machine structures
